Erasmus+ long-term mobility 2026

The English Department is opening applications for the Erasmus+ long-term mobility programme for the 2026/27 school year.
Up to five current sexta and second-year students can take part. The programme offers:
- one 6-week placement at Otaniemen lukio in Espoo (Helsinki), Finland, where classes are taught in Finnish, not English,
- two 3-month placements at local secondary schools in Ireland (Grennan College, Thomastown, Kilkenny),
- and two 3-month placements at a secondary school in Treviso, Italy, where classes are taught in Italian, not English.
The grant covers all expenses.
We’ll select students based on:
- English skills
- Overall academic results
- Motivation
- Involvement in school life and representation of the school
- Soft skills such as interpersonal relationships, communication, responsibility, and flexibility
How to apply and what to expect:
Fill in the online application form by Wednesday, 6 May 2026 (Erasmus+ Mobility Online Application Form 2026 – Vyplnit formulář).
- Send a motivation letter in English (at least 200 words) as an email attachment to petra.hanusova@bigy.cz by Saturday, 9 May 2026. Your letter should include:
- a short introduction about yourself
- your extracurricular activities
- school involvement (competitions, Erasmus and other projects, volunteering, student parliament, hosting exchange students, etc.)
- your motivation, and why do you think you are the best candidate
- how you plan to adapt to living abroad and staying with a host family
- Interview: most likely the following week (13–14 May). We’ll confirm the exact date by email by Monday, 11 May.
